Valéry Grancher is an artist, a theoretician and a curator since 1992. He graduated from Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts de Paris in Hypermedia and Visual Art master in 1995. Since then he has won numerous awards including the “Stunning Awards” WIX, in 2017, was shortlisted by CERN for the COLLIDE international Art Award in 2016, the “Villa Médicis hors les murs” for Japan, AFAA (video board, new technologies) in 1998, and qualified as a finalist for the “Internationaler videokunstpreis”, the International Awards for the video “Memory”, ZKM, Karlsruhe, in 1995.
His work has been exhibited in leading institutions including SF Moma (USA), K11 (Hong Kong), Institute of Contemporary Arts ICA (UK), National Museum of Kielce (Poland), Swiss Institute (Italy), Fondation Verbeke (Belgium) and Musée d’Art Moderne, Centre Georges Pompidou (France).
Grancher’s work has been collected by numerous public collections including VMAC, Videotage Media Art collection, Hong Kong.
