Cristina Chiappinelli (b. 1986 in Cosenza, Italy) obtains her High School Diploma in classical studies in Siena, and then graduates cum laude at the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence (2011). Afterwards she attends in Macerata the Master in Illustration for Publishing “Ars in Fabula”, and she develops a book – project with the publishing house Topipittori.
In 2013 she publishes the illustrated ebook “Monsieur Verne’s Extraordinary Voyage” with the greek publishing house Saita Publications. In the same year she works as Lab –Assistant in the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence.
In 2014 she approaches the Art Therapy with a one-year experience in Civil Service at the ceramic Cooperative “Riuscita Sociale”, Siena.
In 2015 she wins the [Painting] First Prize at the “Artisti in Borgo” contest in San Gusmè (Siena)
In 2016, thanks to the european project Young Talent to Market, she attended a entrepreneurial training workshop and works for two months in two artisanal firms in Limassol (Cyprus).
In 2017, on the occasion of the International Woman Day, the Assessorship to Culture of the City of Siena chooses one of her illustrations for the graphics of the events in programme.
The staff of the educational magazine “ Educazione Aperta” (Fasi di Luna, 2017) chooses one of her illustrations as cover of the first number of the magazine.
She exhibits regularly (both in solo and collective art exhibitions) her linocuts and illustrations based on literary masterpieces like Around the World in 80 Days, The Master and Margarita, Alice in Wonderland and The Adventures of Pinocchio.
She recently cooperates with Lombardi Art Gallery, based in Siena.
At present she works both with the production and exhibition of her pieces in Artistic Graphics and illustration and with the teaching of Arts and their history.
