Curator, Hong Kong Contemporary Art Foundation (HOCA)
Lauren Every-Wortman is the Curator at the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Foundation (HOCA).
Having graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, with a dual degree in ‘Visual Studies: Art Practice and technology’ and ‘Art History’. With years of experience in the contemporary art world in the USA and Every-Wortman spent two years in Japan before moving to Hong Kong to begin a position as the Gallery Manager at Above Second, an art space dedicated to expanding the urban contemporary art movement. In this role, Every-Wortman managed gallery exhibitions, as well as extensive off-site projects such as “Work in Progress”, an exhibition held in conjunction with Swire Properties in 2013 and site-specific mural commissions such as those by Cyrcle at the Youth Outreach Centre in Sai Wan Ho and D*Face at PMQ in Central Hong Kong.
Her experience of working with urban artists has encouraged her to continue working on public art projects and paved her way to a career in the non-profit sector. With HOCA, Every-Wortman has curated exhibitions with some of the most important urban artists of our times.
