Uma Parameswar founded Athina Consulting an arts management consultancy borne out of her passion for the arts combined with over a decade of work experience in business development for both the public and private sector across Europe and Asia. In addition, she serves as a Member of the Board for the International Council of Museums (ICOM-ICTOP), Singapore Representative with a focus on museum international collaborations, partnerships and pedagogy between Europe and Asia – Previous appointments include: Board Member for National Museum Institute, India’s premier cultural public sector organisation incorporated to enhance museum education and management in India under the aegis of Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Uma is the author of two business reports: Public Museums in India : A Review of the National Museum, New Delhi and a business report Towards Profitable Public Sector Museums a report beneficial to institutions keen on gaining a better understanding of the current administrative policies that surround the public sector museums in India as well as for private corporations that are keen to explore expansion strategies.
Uma is an alumni of Sotheby’s Institute of Art, University of Manchester and holds a post graduate degree in Arts Business.
